28-19 YTD Wed Plays

Search
Am locked in on 3 plays. This will be it for tomorrow:

CINCINNATI -5
OKLAHOMA +6
NORTHERN IOWA +3

2-1 tonight with 2 rather easy winners and 1 pitiful loss. YTD moves to 30-20

You are welcome outlaw titan, glad to help. Have been considering not posting anymore as I was beginning to wonder if anyone even pays attention to my picks. I was feeling that it wasn't worth the effort for me to post if it wasn't helping anyone. Whenever there is a listing of "who are the best posters?" or " who should I follow", I am surprised not to be mentioned as I have been at or around 60% in college hoops, college football and pro football. Baseball is the only sport that I bet other than those 3 that I don't claim to know that much, just a bit over 50% this year.
All records documented here.

Omaha,

So not true. In one of those threads I said the only people I follow is you, action, carolina kid, and dawgman. Since Dawg has left I am down to three solid cappers to follow. Keep up the good work.

Omaha,

Don't be silly, man! What do you think those 200+ views are, chopped liver? Lots of stuff is going on out there that you wouldn't even imagine. Think of all those cute teenage girls who think they're ugly but their uncle once took a picture of her in a bathing suit, posted it on the net and thousands of guys are drooling and ... well you get the idea. OK, maybe it's not the perfect analogy but I guess I just wanted to say that your record speaks volumes!

Last week I did a search for your name and I noticed you made comments on Co-Captain's thread. That made me think "hmmm, if Omaha respects this guy's picks then maybe he's worth a look". Then I read some of his write-ups and sure enough he became one of the few cappers I follow here. Needless to say your threads have been in my "must read" category for quite some time now.

I don't normally make those one-liner encouraging posts like "I'm on that one too, GL to us" but I may start doing it more often now.

I sincerely hope you stick around since this site needs intelligent cappers.

Thanks guys. I appreciate your comments and it is humbling to know others rely on you. And Darryl, I know what you mean by the one liner posts.... I don't need a thread to be responded to by 15 people with one line responses like you said to feel important. As long as I am able to help others out, I will keep posting as I don't post the information I collect but rather just my picks.

I know how nice it is to read other peoples rationale and reasoning on why to choose a certain side. I simply post my selections because of time constraints... but trust me that I do my research and part of it is on here.

Thanks again for the nice responses and if I can just help a few people out that is good enough for me

Omaha:

Completely and fully understand your feelings and sense of frustration. Often times it seems that some members of the forum only notice those that have a lot of action or those that hype their plays and can be fooled into thinking that these players win a high percentage of the time which just isn't the case. These type of players tend not to post their records too date as well. You have a solid record on this forum and as has been said previously, the views indicate a following. Just keep posting your selections as well as your games and your following will surely grow. When the question is asked about who are the handicappers to follow, don't let the answer bother you. Sometimes the blind lead the blind. There are eyes, however, that see the truth.

Thanks OMT. Well spoken. Longevity is another thing that is important. I have now been here over 3 years and have seen guys come and go. I have seen guys start of the season hot and are a new poster and all of a sudden everyone is following them, only to see them disappear when their record reverts to the mean. Just glad its not my money going out the window.

Years ago, I hoped to end up in the positive and always ended up in the negative... at least so I think.. I didn't track my record or my money very well. I am sure there was a reason for that

I am much more wiser and really starting tracking myself over the past 4-5 years. It helps make me disciplined and honest. That is another reason why I like posting here. I know exactly what my record is.

Thanks again to everyone for the kind words. I will not again complain about being under the radar.

oldmanTED,

Good points. There is a certain horizon that everyone can see beyond their own level. By this I mean that if you ask someone who is the smartest person they know, they will usually say someone who has about 10-15 points higher IQ than theirs. If you ask that person the same question, then repeat it a few times, you will eventually get to the documented super-geniuses. But if you ask the first person what they think of the super-genius, he will agree he's a super-genius but more out of acceptance of others' authority than by his own convictions.

I don't know who was the first to say "it's lonely at the top" but whoever it is, he's right!

Moneymaker your solid man, of course people take your picks. They would be stupid not too! And if they don't that means more money for me, cause i always check your picks out and when we agree, let's say I throw a little extra on it. It's been very profitable for me. Good job!

Moneymaker,
I have a lot of respect for your handicapping abilities and posting style.I make my own selections in roundball and despite a so-so year,I will continue to do so.But if I did throw the towel in,I would definitely play your picks.Keep up the good work.

Omaha as a fairly new member to this site and one who very rarely says much, be rest assured I look for your plays every night. As a matter of fact I have your posts set to automatically email me so I don't miss them. just because you don't hype yourself does not mean noone is paying attention. Keep up the great capping and PLEASE continue to help those of us w/out your skills making $$$$$$$.

omaha--You're one of the handful of people that I check all the time. No BS, no hype, just plays (and very good ones). Keep up the great work.
